learn & unwind
Want to spend a week making music somewhere completely different? At the Villa Musica Summer Academy, focused vocal coaching meets the easy rhythm of a summer holiday.
Work on songs you love, explore new styles and sing both solo and with the group – then head to the pool or the beach.
Come on your own or with someone you know. With just 4–8 participants, it’s easy to get to know each other and make music together.
Make more of your voice
In a creative, relaxed atmosphere, you’ll work on:
- Your own voice and musicality
- Breathing and vocal technique
- Ensemble singing and stage presence
The coaching is practical, personal and tailored to your level. You’ll work individually and in small groups, with live accompaniment on the grand piano or playback. No formal training is needed: beginners, choir singers and band members are all welcome.

We usually work with 4–8 participants. This leaves plenty of time for individual coaching and the music that personally interests you.
Meet your vocal coaches
Sofia Bineva – Classical singing, voice training & ear training
She combines a solid foundation in classical vocal training with many years of teaching and stage experience.
Jan-M. Studt – Modern singing, interpretation & microphone technique
He works with pop, musical theatre and ensemble singing, with a particular focus on interpretation and stagecraft.
Your base for the week
You’ll spend 7 nights in a comfortable villa directly on the Black Sea coast:
- Single rooms
- Shared kitchen with two well-stocked fridges, fresh local produce and self-catering essentials—all included
- Pool, whirlpool, barbecue and fireplace areas
- Beach, coastal trips and time to do your own thing
- Plenty of shared space for music, conversation and relaxed evenings

Sofia and Jan are wonderful hosts, and I felt at home straight away.
The days were very well balanced, with a good mix of focused work on developing our musical skills, relaxed musical and leisure activities together, and time to unwind on our own.
I made tremendous progress with my vocal technique during this week and can finally access my head voice confidently.
Working on our own pieces and singing freely were also really well organised. I enjoyed both so much, and they helped me become more confident in my voice.

A Typical Day
Monday - Saturday:
- Group vocal warm-up
- Individual voice training lesson with Sofia (with a sea view)
- Individual interpretation lesson with Jan (in the jazz club)
- Time for a longer break
- Singing together or working on ensemble pieces
- Free time afterwards
The schedule still leaves plenty of time for the pool, the beach or exploring the coast.
Special Program Highlights
- Sunday (arrival day): shared dinner and getting to know each other
- Thursday: shared excursion along the Black Sea coast (for example Varna or Cape Kaliakra)
- Saturday afternoon: final concert with the group
- Saturday evening: shared farewell dinner
- Sunday: departure
Teaching rooms
The heart of our villa is the large teaching room with a sea view. It also offers plenty of space for larger groups.
Our own jazz club, with its dedicated lighting and sound system, creates a genuine live-music atmosphere.
Your kitchen, your rhythm
Two well-stocked fridges, fresh local produce and everyday essentials make our shared kitchen your holiday kitchen. Whether you fancy a delicious breakfast, a quick snack or an easy meal, help yourself to bread, cheeses, cold cuts, fresh vegetables, milk, eggs and muesli, and prepare whatever you feel like—with no fixed mealtimes.
The groceries provided, along with water, tea and coffee, are included in your stay. Beer and wine are available to purchase separately on site.
Everyone prepares food according to their own taste, and people often end up sitting around the table together in a relaxed way.
Restaurants and supermarkets are about a 15-minute walk away.

Information
- The nearest airport is Varna, Bulgaria.
- Flights are not included. Direct flights are available from cities including Hamburg and Berlin.
- Due to the number of stairs, the house is unfortunately only partially suitable for people with limited mobility.
- A rental car is useful for excursions in the surrounding area, but is not essential.
Payment, rebooking, cancellation
- Payment in advance (bank transfer)
- You may withdraw within 14 days of booking; the price paid will be refunded in full.
- After that, cancellation is possible until for a fee of 40 €.
- If you are unable to attend, for example due to illness, you may rebook free of charge for the next Summer Academy in the following year.
